Easter Bunny Door for Your Yard

Easter Bunny Door

This Easter create some whimsical magic in your yard, with an Easter Bunny Door. It’s quick, easy and inexpensive. We loved our Leprechaun Door so much, we made one for the Easter Bunny too.

Easter Bunny Door Supplies

  1. Poster Board
  2. Hot Glue Gun
  3. Exacto Knife
  4. Pink, Gold, & Brown Paint
  5. Wire
  6. Door Knob
  7. Wooden Cutouts for the “Hinges”

How to Decorate for Easter

To create the door shape, use your Exacto knife to cut out a semi-circle in the top of your poster board. I’ve also notched the top of the door. I think it makes the door look older. Wouldn’t the Easter Bunny Door have bunny ears in the top?

Score long lines into the board to allow it to bend around the tree. This also creates the look of wooden boards. Just be careful not to push your knife all the way through the board.

Easter Bunny Door DIY

Using a stencil create a bunny image in the top of your door. I carved a bunny head into mine.

Now start painting. Paint the poster board brown. This will create your base color.

After the brown paint dries, paint the board pink. Using an old rag or paper towel wipe away some of the paint to allow the brown to show through. This will help create the look of an old wooden door that’s been there for years.

Pink Easter Craft

Hot glue your painted hinges and knob onto your “door”. I’ve also notched some holes on the sides of the board. This allow me to twist the wire around the door to hold it in place around my tree.

Painted Door DIY

Add a vase of flowers, a lantern or a basket of eggs next to your finished door. It’s the perfect decoration for an Easter Egg Hunt. Create a path on the ground in front of your door with crushed gravel or mulch.

We plan to switch out our doors every season.
